Option for the Poor  The Gospel calls Christians to put the needs of the poor first. A common moral test of a society is how it treats its most vulnerable people. Wherever there is structural injustice, Christians are called to oppose it. Those with the greatest need require the greatest response.

Discipleship

The mission of the Catholic Church is to unite all things in Christ. We do this by proclaiming Christ to the world through our words and our actions. We proclaim Christ not merely by speaking the Gospel or telling someone about Jesus. Proclaiming Christ means communicating the Good News in such a way that it sounds like good news for those who are most in need. Jesus evangelized not simply by telling people about his Father or what heaven was like or naming the greatest commandment. He communicated the Good News of the kingdom by making the kingdom a reality wherever he went—by healing the sick, feeding the hungry, comforting the lonely, forgiving the sinner, standing up for the outcast. All our efforts at Holy Eucharist Church are to strive to make life more like the kingdom of God here in the Tabernacle area.

As disciples of Jesus Christ, we are believers in His message to “love our neighbors as ourselves” and since the message of Jesus Christ is for the world, it is necessary that the message actually be proclaimed and addressed to the world. The task of discipleship is to introduce the message of Christ through all peoples in a variety of cultural settings.

The various ministries at Holy Eucharist heed this call and are committed to the pastoral care of souls and to the establishment of people in their Catholic faith .  From bake sales to Eucharistic Ministers, from hospitality to stewardship, from stuffing bulletins to cooking soup, numerous small groups bring the love of Jesus to others through simple everyday activities.  They help others to integrate their knowledge of various theological disciplines and gain competence in the skills that are needed to lead souls to the truth. Those faithful to the crucified Lord help Him accomplish His mission of "making disciples of all nations" through them, for they are His Church.

The Ministries of Holy Eucharist Church recognize the church's global mission, and foster this by addressing the needs of young and of old, of poor and of lonely, of locally in Tabernacle as well as abroad in Ecuador.
