Sacramental Policies

It is our policy here at Holy Eucharist that a child must have attended one (1) full year of religious instructions prior to entering a sacrament class.

Reconciliation: Children are prepared for the Sacrament of Reconciliation during the first half of the second year of religious formation.

First Eucharist: The Sacrament of the Eucharist is the supreme gift of God to His Church. Preparation for the reception of communion takes place the second half of the second year. Parent/guardians must fully participate in all the requirements of the program.

Confirmation: Our formal preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation begins in the 7th grade. A candidate must have attended classes the year before in order to be placed in our Confirmation Program. During the 8th grade, the students are enrolled as Confirmation Candidates and concentrate more fully on the Holy Spirit and the Spirit's presence in their lives. We focus on the candidates giving witness as they participate in the different ministries here at Holy Eucharist.

All students who have received the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist are encouraged to receive Eucharist weekly and to receive the Lord's gift of forgiveness often.
