Inter-Faith Hospitality

The Interfaith Hospitality Network unites religious congregations to provide shelter, meals, and support to families without homes.  Families are housed in each host church or synagogue for one week every two to three months on a rotating schedule.  There are three to five families at a time with up to 14 people.  Browns Mills United Methodist Church provides sleeping quarters and hospitality, while Holy Eucharist acts as a “helping parish” providing the meals for those weeks.  Hot meals are prepared and delivered by Holy Eucharist volunteers at about 5:30 PM each day.  It takes the care and generosity of about 45 parish volunteers to complete this task each week in an effort to help families achieve and sustain their independence in an environment of warmth and kindness.
