HOSPITALITY MINISTRY

The Hospitality Ministry serves light refreshments after all weekend Masses to provide parishioners with a time of extended fellowship following the celebration of the Mass.  Hot coffee and tea and cold lemonade and iced tea are made and served by the ministers, using supplies provided by the parish.  Homemade baked goods or purchased products are donated at the discretion of individual ministers—it is not required.

Individuals, couples, and families may serve as Hospitality Ministers.  Ministers choose the Mass time that is convenient for them for serving, and they receive a quarterly schedule.  Most Hospitality Ministers are scheduled once every 6 to 8 weeks.  Other Ministry options include helping to serve cake or punch at special parish celebrations, and providing baked goods only for the weekend Hospitality service.

Here at Holy Eucharist we use Fair Trade Coffee through CRS during our Hospitality sessions. CRS partners with 16 coffee companies that are totally committed to the principles of Fair Trade, including fair pricing and direct, long-term, mutually respectful trading relationships with the farmers who grow their coffee.  These companies are also committed to CRS – every one donates a percentage of our purchase to the CRS Fair Trade Fund to help expand the Fair Trade model.  When we purchase Fair Trade coffee we are not just buying great coffee. We are helping to build a better trading system and a more just world, one cup at a time.
