BEREAVEMENT MINISTRY

Recognizing the belief in eternal life given to us by Jesus, the grief journey holds the possibility of becoming a moment of transformation in one’s faith journey.  As a ministry, the Friends of Lazarus seek to foster support and understanding to the bereaved in a number of ways.  The unified goal of this ministry is to walk alongside the bereaved as they navigate their individual journey of grief.

            Currently staff of Holy Eucharist Parish in conjunction with the Friends of Lazarus ministry offer a number of services to individuals and families experiencing the loss of a loved one.  They include:  assistance with planning the funeral liturgy, hospitality during viewings held at the church, cards of condolence sent to the family of the deceased, bereavement support held monthly, assisting with setting up the church and atrium for funeral services and viewings, and collaboration with the Music Ministry in providing music at the funeral mass.

            The Friends of Lazarus meet once a year as a group for fellowship
