Overview
We at the parish of Holy Eucharist, look upon religious education as a total experience involving not just the child, but also parents, families, catechists, and priests that form our parish community of faith. We believe that religious formation is getting to know Jesus and learning what is expected of one who chooses to follow Him in the Catholic tradition. Our program reflects an integrated learning experience, composed of learning catechesis, prayer, sacramental preparation, traditional Catholic doctrine, liturgy, and community building. Through the light of faith, we hope to develop in those entrusted in our care a deeper relationship with God.

Our catechists are dedicated Catholics who have generously donated their time, efforts and talents to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to our parish children. Many have been teaching in our program for a number of years and by their fine example provide role models of Christian life in action.

The Church teaches that parents have the primary right and responsibility for the religious formation of their children. "Though the influence of peers and adult catechists is important, Catechetical programs are not intended to supplant parents as the primary educators of their children. Parental involvement in catechetical programs is essential." The faith we posses is a gift from God. It is our responsibility as parents to nurture the faith of our children.

If the child does not see religion in action in the home and is not attending the Saturday or Sunday Eucharistic Celebration, then he/she will not recognize it in class one hour and fifteen minutes a week. In order to develop the faith life of our children effectively, we must diligently work on expanding our own relationship with God.
